FAQ
What does BYOK mean?
BYOK means Bring Your Own Key. You connect your own AI provider key in Settings, and Aion uses that provider for cloud replies.
What stays on my phone?
Your Aion memory, timeline, history, and profile data stay on your phone. Cloud prompts leave the device only when you use a connected provider or tool.
Does Aion block screenshots?
No. Aion allows screenshots by default so users stay in control of what they save or share. Only capture or share screens you are comfortable revealing.
Why is Gmail not working?
Common causes include:
- wrong Google account
- Gmail not enabled on that account
- OAuth test-user setup missing
Why is local mode slow?
Local models run directly on your phone hardware. Performance depends heavily on device memory and model size.
Which local model is currently supported?
Current supported local baseline:
TinyLlama-1.1B-Chat-v1.0.Q4_K_M.gguf
Local mode is optional and narrower than the main BYOK cloud path.
